Default VA Benefits

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Any of you guys work part/full time for the VA.
I'm looking at a VA gig and when I talked to the benefits folks they told me:
-No CME
-No coverage for moving expenses.

This seemed a little strange. Anyone have a different experience with the VA?

I hear the pension/retirement is good and the work is easy.. I didnt look into it since its not for me but I have heard good things for people who want good benefits, a nice retirement and a relatively relaxed work environment.

Is there a stigma against EM trained VA docs? Good benefits and relaxes work environment doesn't sound too bad, how come it's not a hot gig? Is there a significant pay differential?

I've heard stigma against VA nurses, i.e. can't draw blood, can't do vitals... blah blah...

Thanks
