Minor: Chemistry cGPA= 3.62 sGPA= 3.56 MCAT= will take it summer of 2012, a bit shaky because lack of science knowledge volunteer: Nursing home (60+hrs), will continue in the summer Research: 1 yr, research is completed and will be published but I probly won't be mentioned. Going to do more research my senior year. Internship: Brooklyn art incubator Awards and Honor: deans list 3 yrs, full ride for the art program, several exhibits (will have my own solo show in the spring of 2013, and a group thesis show), Best Judge award, etc EC: ACE, Pre-Health Honor Society (3 yrs), relay for life, painting murals for schools and other places, etc,. Art website: https://stjohns.digication.com/minh_...en/Galleries// I came to America from a really poor country at the age of 10, and didnt learn to speak or write until 13-14 then I had to catch up with society on my own. Because I'm a first generation to attend college, I had to learn to do everything on my own. I love science and I have passion for art, it was really hard for me to choose but I'm so glad I went to college for art, because all the techniques and ways to create art will stay with me forever. Now I hope to continue where I left off with the sciences. I'm also applying to medical illustration school, so whatever I get in first I will go with that option. EC-wise, you appear to have about a semester's worth of clinical experience which is on the sparse side. The average listed is 1.5 years. You don't mention physician shadowing, which is also important to acquire (about 50 hours is average). The research looks fine, though. Peer leadership, teaching, and nonmedical community service also strengthen an application. You'd probably want to work on beefing up your ECs through the application cycle, for the sake of Secondary essays, update letters, and interview conversations. And in case it would be necessary to reapply.

For my EC I have a lot more such as volunteer art tutor and soup kitchen, I just shortened it a little. In term of shadowing I might do one this summer during my volunteer at a hospital. Let's assume I get a 25 on the MCAT what are my chances? and 29?

For DO med schools, you should do fine with either of those MCAT scores. For MD, among All Applicants in the past three years with 3.62/25 or 3.62/29, odds respectively were ~26% and ~51%.

I'm really not subjected to just MD school, knowing that it is possible for me to get into medical school with those scores is really helpful. Thank you!
