Read an article about this and was wondering if anyone here is a surgical hospitalist. How does it compare to private practice? Does this make surgery more lifestyle friendly?

Alot of the trauma guys are defacto surgical hospitalists.

You might try looking through Skeptical Scalpel's blog. IIRC he is a surgical hospitalist.

agree many of the trauma/critical care surgeons are kinda like surgical hospitalists

i also see PAs who cover surgical floor stuff
