MTB headings - trivial? maybe, but its driving me nuts
SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Some disease/syndromes are in purple some in green, some in different shades of green and teal, some in dark blue. What is going on?!?! Does it mean anything at all when a condition is in green vs purple

Lol, I have no clue what they mean but that sounds like something that would bug me too. Maybe they have a color key in the front or the back of the book.

A great example is in the Hematology chapter of the book.
pg 214- Sickle Cell Trait, Hereditary Spherocytosis, are all in blue-green. Just above this.. Aplastic Crisis is in purple. On the next page 215-, Autoimmune Hemolysis is in normal green And then on page 220-221, all the conditions like Polycythemia Vera, Essential thrombocytosis etc.. are in DARK blue, and in full caps... Wtf does it all mean!?!? There is NO uniformity or hierarchy at all. The material is great, but the arrangement makes it very difficult to think systematically. The format reminds me of Conrad Fisher during live lectures... his explanations and analogies are great but he's all over the place. |
