Search around the net for more NHSC info and found this interesting blog from a female pediatrician. Sound like physicians are getting the short end of the stick

as I'm reading these proposals, the service obligations in the medical programs are getting longer. What once was a 2-4 year gig (depending on if you were on "scholarship", in straight public service or the military) is now proposed to be drawn out for as long as ten years.

The NHSC still is only 2-4 years, depending on how many years they flip the bill for one's education; you give back what they paid for you in terms of years. 4 years of scholarship = 4 years of service.

I see this is about the loan repayment program. Anyhow, good link. It's good to read about these perspectives.
