MS3 here trying to set up 4th year schedule... I did well on Step 1 so I want to take Step 2 CK at end of Oct. Will that be a problem with interviews? Do programs interview in Oct?

Some might, especially if you're a super stud with programs tripping over themselves to interview you. Most interviews will be during November, December, and even January, so I can't say you'd really lose much by taking step 2 then. It is only one day, after all. Still, if you're that concerned about it, you might as well schedule step 2 for after interview season. You must not need a good score for your application, based on your intention to take it in late October.

Here's a list of interview dates and when they were sent out from Aunt Minnie. There are exceptions, but in general the less competitive programs notify first and start interviewing in November or earlier, the more competitive programs interview in January. Most programs notify people before the MSPE with notable exceptions being CA and Harvard programs.

This year MSPE is releasing on October 1 instead of November 1. Our dean believes that more programs might start interviewing earlier this year as compared to previous years. Just FYI.

I know with the change in MSPE submission dates, these interview dates are likely to change; but when comparing previous years, can anyone comment on how similar these interview dates were from year to year?

So with radiology, There are a few compact interview times.
I would to knock out some TY/Prelim interviews in Oct or Late Jan/Early Feb

November - Programs interview pretty much only the first two weeks. The last two weeks are Thanksgiving week followed by RSNA. Only a few places I found were interviewing during that time.

December - Same as November. Once Christmas and New Years weeks hit, they run a light crew and aren't interviewing.

January - Wide open. The bulk of your interviews particularly the California programs happen during this time.

The dates posted above are also not all the dates offered. Many have more interview dates, but don't offer them as choices to the first round of applicants.

You'll be fine taking CK/CS during that time. Giving up a few days also won't matter if you absolutely have to do one during October. Your scores aren't a huge deal anymore.

General Tips:
If you're offered an interview during one of those "dead" periods, choose them to keep time free in the heavy time frames.

Contact the prelims/TYs in the areas once you get the Rads interviews and see if they are willing to have you interview on the same trip. Most will accommodate.

Putting TY interviews in Oct/Late Jan or during those "dead" periods again helps free up time.

Accept all interviews very quickly to lock in the date. Some places offer interviews to more people than they have interview slots. You can always cancel later.

Some programs list particular dates on their websites, and some are very inflexible (NYU in particular only offers two dates). Check your top places to make sure you leave space when you start accepting interviews from less competitive places.

Most are in December/January, although most invitations went out in October/November.

As a general rule, the early interviews (October, early November) were less competitive programs, either by reputation or location.

This year it will probably be even later.
