I may just be delirious or having a manic episode (albeit I'm not bipolar), but I have never been more excited for ANYTHING in my short life as I am for medical school right now!

Pardon my eccentricity, but I'm just looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me.

Hopefully something along the lines of "Top of class...chief surgical resident...world renown neurosurgeon".

Nothing too ambitious(:

Good luck with your aspirations. I can honestly say that part of me is really excited right now, as I will be applying this year. If successful with my application, international medicine is a major goal for me. Alongside this is teaching others and continuing to share my passion with those entering my field.

Being a product of the worlds most dangerous country, Somalia, I'd be humbled to return home for a bit to do some humanitarian work and then come back here. One of my dreams is to start a clinic with a handful of equally compassionate doctors and friends in other walks of medicine to provide free health care to the underserved and most in need.

Wow! I've never been more excited for a summer ever. And it just so happens to be my last one.

Glad you're happy. But remember to enjoy your life. You don't get it back.

That definitely sounds like you're terminally ill and are giving me life advice 0.o

Hahah, but in all seriousness, you should really ENJOY your summers now. Summer before med school is basically your last free summer to do what you want.

Summer before third year is really your last summer, period.

It doesn't really matter since we all die.

Good thing there aren't people on this forum who are waitlisted or didn't get accepted this cycle. That would be really awkward....oh...wait.

Big demand for academic neurosurgeons in refugee camps.

start with getting a plastic surgeon to put your face in the proper arrangement.

I used to be really excited to start med school, but as the day gets closer, I'm mostly just terrified...

<------satisfied?

And about people getting wait listed or rejected...well, that happens. Grab your testis, jerk 'em up real quick (not too hard, don't want to damage the goods) and tell yourself nothing will get in the way of your pursuit of medical school.

Terrified is good. Let's you remember that it is something demanding and taxing that you're getting in to. Keep a clear head and committed heart and we will be alright.
