Default ACT or SAT

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
I haven't seen a thread about or near this idea in a LONG time and was just curious about all the other Pre-Dents out there!

What did you get on your ACT or SAT?

1st Time: 30 ACT
2nd Time: 32 ACT

-- Did two practice exams to get a feel for it better for the 2nd time, woke up and took it for the 1st time lol. Was curious how everyone else has done/did.

My SAT scores were almost negative.

But that's in the past and doesn't matter now.

You may want to take this to hSDN.

You realize this is as weird as dentists comparing DAT scores right?

Once you're in to whatever program your test qualifies you for...who cares!

You should talk about your ACT score in your personal statement.

I think it would also be cool if we compared high school GPA's.

I think OP is trying to make or imply the point that preliminary high school standardized tests may indicate success in professional school and in undergrad. The fact of the matter is there is very little, but still evident, correlation between high school tests and GPA and professional and undergrad success.

The replies seem to imply that these scores are totally useless. This is not true in the least. Those that study from a young age do have an edge on their competition in undergrad and professional school. Paritly due to natural intelligence and partially due to acclimation to studying and initial knowledge.

In terms of practicing dentistry or being successful in dental school, I don't think it's relevant.

Your ACT score is commendable.

I think you are reading too much into it, as it seems as if the OP just wanted to share his/her ACT scores because they are proud of them.

FWIW my DAT score was higher than my ACT score, so I don't think the ACT meant too much...

Awesome ACT. I bet your mom is proud of you.

Anyone here win anything in elementary? I won the student of the year award in grade 1 and 6. I slacked in between. My mom was crazy proud of me.

Sacapuntas, are you now able to recognize my intention?
