Default Pre-Derm: Where is the strangest place you've gotten a pimple?

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Sorry for the eye-grabbing title. This might come up in an interview, therefore it is relevant to pre-allo.

I'll start:

1. Lip

2. Knee

3. Perineum

Not a pre derm, but behind my ear.

How does one get a pimple on the knee?

Oh, wait! I got one on my eyelid before. Right where the lashes come out.

I get them on my knee in the summer all of the time. Wearing shorts that stop at the knee = friction irritation = pimples.

I cringed when I heard the term "pre-derm."

i kno, rite?

Yes, anything around the eyes sucks. The one in/on my lip was pretty bad...I kept on popping it and it would reform in about a day. I felt like I was draining all the oil out of my face.

definitely my ass. At first I thought it was a spider bite, then I thought it was MRSA. When it popped I got so scared because of the hole in my ass that I went to the ED to have it cleaned. Damn thing turned into an abscess. Healed right up though. I have pics/video if anyone is interested.

Exactly zero people are going to ask you the strangest places you've gotten pimples before in a medical school interview.

This is ridiculous haha. But I've only ever had one pimple on my nose once. It doesn't really run in my family, in fact half my family suffers from eczema and really dry skin.
Besides...derm sucks :P

"Pre-derm" is one of the most toolish things I've ever seen on this board. And that's saying something.

i think the worse place to get them is above the lip under the nostril. They can be so painful and get massive. I had one there ONCE and it hurt so bad trying to pop i teared up big time. It got pretty big - it was bad, but finally i looked in the mirror and i felt a sudden pop. It popped by itself! Blood was gushing out.

Two things:

1) Reading this thread makes me glad that I've never had problems with acne. In this respect, I feel like God has been kind to me.

2) Am I the only one here who spent way too much time watching pimple popping/ear cleaning videos on youtube? I'll be looking for one thing, a pimple video will pop up, and there goes the rest of the afternoon. It's like a slo-mo train wreck: absolutely horrible, but you just can't look away.

Okay, three things. A pimple on your PERINEUM?! You have my unceasing sympathy. Holy cow.

I've seen a few really good blister popping videos. There's one where a girl burned herself pretty bad and hr blister looks like a fluid filled apple attached to the palm of her hand.

Several months ago, a thread degenerated into people posting abscess/cyst-popping videos. I quite enjoyed it, actually.

I LOOOOOVE watching those videos. They're one of my few guilty pleasures.

And to answer the OP's question: I had one at the base of the old pecker 2 weeks ago.

If anyone judges you we can be judged together. I also shamefully watch those videos and I too have experienced the "pecker" pimple.

The "pimple" on your lip was herpes. Lips do not have hair follicles, so anything you think is a pimple is really just a sore.

The "pimple" on your perineum also may be. Sorry, bro

When someone "lip" pimple I think along the border of the lip. There are definitely visible pores along the border that can get clogged and inflamed. If you mean literally on the lip itself, yeah that's not a pimple.

2.5%-3% Benzoyl Peroxide

You will NEVER have to worry about pimples ever again. I know I don't.

Never had pimples before, rashes, but never actual pimples. My high school years were pretty decent in terms of acne.

It's not that simple for some people. I had to take the dreaded drug Accutane in high school to take care of my issues.

If you have the traditional sense of pimples, it is that simple. If you have some other skin condition, then I'll agree it's not that simple.

My skin used to be covered in horrible cysts, with huge red pimples and whiteheads as the "best part" of my skin. Genetics basically screwed me over in the skin department. I almost considered Accutane until I tried 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide.

Now, my skin is just about flawless, give or take the very faded, barely noticeable marks left behind my acne history. Scars have basically faded. Never thought my skin would be this smooth or even.

The trick is to apply the Benzoyl Peroxide VERY generously. Use it much more than a British woman uses sunblock. To SLATHER it would be an understatement. Those tiny samples at the store where you use "On the spot treatment" do not do your skin justice. You need to find some HUGE package of Benzoyl Peroxide, in order to apply a lot of it.

I wish you had been my dermatologist. That fool tried but didn't know you're advanced "apply generously" breakthrough. He went through antibiotics and all sorts of other treatments over the course of a year, when he could have just told me to buy buckets of over-the-counter cream at my local CVS.

If i didn't know any better I'd think you were Daniel Kern! hahaha

but no for real, BP is a god send.

That's the thing...it was a pimple. I let it percolate for a few days until it was a full-fledge whitehead, then popped it.

The "pimple" on your perineum also may be. Sorry, bro
Lol no, it was a pimple. And not just an average pimple, but a really, really good whitehead. It was along the border of my lower lip, close to where the lips meet. I would pop it (and get out a sizeable chunk of oil), wait 24 hrs for it to reform, then pop it again. This went on for about a week.

Can't tell if serious...

Also pimple on your perineum? Sounds like genital herpes.
