Default June 21st is the day

Hey guys,

Looking 4 some advice.

I only have 19 days left before the real thing, I just got done with reviweing all the materials. I took Kaplan FL 1 two weeks ago, I did terrible. So I figured finish the material with questions after each chapter then go through lesson book and do sectional and topical and such.

I'm planning to do two FL a week, in mean time sectional, topical and Qbank will be my priority.
Am I on right path here?

Thakns

I'm in the same boat as you. Pretty much just hammering in topical tests, going over equation notecards, and reading info out of the review notes that I need to reinforce.

I will be finishing up the last set of lessons by this upcoming Friday, and after that point my plan is to take 1 FL or AAMC test per day, and then do topicals or sectionals in areas I still need to improve.

You are both on the right track! Make sure you are working to understand what you are getting wrong.

As I have mentioned in previous posts really take the time to go over the questions you are missing on your FL exams. Then try to keep track of the type of questions and concepts you missing. You should start to see patterns so that you can work on your specific weaknesses!

Let me know if you have more questions!

Patrick - I am going to be taking AAMC 8,9,10,11 the 4 days previous to the exam, in that order. I will have time to do 2 other AAMC exams, which ones other than those I just listed would be best material to prepare me?

The way I understand it some are more like the current MCAT than others.

@pathologyDO,

That order is great! However I would caution taking 4 test in the 4 days before your own test because that can lead to a lot of anxiety and burnout. Maybe try taking just two (10 and 11) in the 4 days before and make sure you take a day off before the real thing!

Let me know if you have more questions.

Just to be clear 10 and 11 are more like the current MCAT than others.

Question

Thanks for the feedback.

I have few setbacks, I tried to do a unit in the lesson book and take relevant topical tests. But I can only take one or two a day, after that I get so burned out. I also take one VR test a day. May be that's why.

So I think I'm just gonna take AAMC test every other day, and the day in between review the stuff I had trouble with. I'm still consistent with 50 questions a day on Q bank.

About the Q bank, some questions are super hard and so detailed, are those real MCAT questions?

Besides this, anything else I should focus on? One thing that kind of drives me nuts is that Kaplan provides so much stuff to prepare for this test, but I CAN"T USE ALL OF IT.

Maikal!

I feel your frustration. We have a TON of materials.

1st off when is your test? You don't really want to take a test EVERY other day because that can lead to burnout pretty quickly. I suggest throwing in the science and verbal section tests so you can break up the monotony of taking so many full length exams.

The Q bank is designed to give you more difficult questions so that the ones on test day come a bit easier.

If you can let me know when you test date is and how many full lengths you have taken so far I can give you a bit better of a study plan recommendation!

Hi Patrick
My test is on June 21st

I only have done Kaplan FL 1, after doing horrible on that I tried to have better grasp of material by reading review books, going over lesson book, doing workshops and few topical tests.

I am fairly consistent with 50 questions a day on Q bank .
At this point I'm trying to review orgo in lesson book cause it's been a while.

So what do u recommend 4 next 13 days?
Thanks again

You need to be sure to fit in 3-4 more practice tests. If you are not scoring where you would like to be scoring come test day then you might consider pushing your test back. Let me know if you need specific questions answered.
