Seriously... I dont know how long it took you to research that, but good for him or her. I don't exactly see why that's relevant here, and I also dont see how you know for sure which place he/she is going, this person is on the waitlist here for a reason...

The other thing here is that regardless of where this person is going, they have a spot on the waitlist here BUT this in no way affects the relative placement of anybody else. Additionally, if this person is going somewhere else, this is potentially good news for somebody else further down.

Frankly, I congratulate him/her on the acceptance to duke, and I hope they are a good fit where ever they choose to go.

This is a forum here... Everybody has a right to complain about what ever they want, but really, there is a right and wrong way to approach it. Maybe we can take things down a notch?

You know he is going to Duke because he has an MD Profile set up. And he isn't on the wait list at OHSU, he was accepted to OHSU and already turned down his spot. Regardless I agree that we should take things down a notch. Lets stay positive and encouraging on this thread.

Spot on. I read this thread still though because being from Oregon I have multiple friends on the wait list and I'm anxious for them to get in

Did anyone else who received their admissions packet recently have anything mentioned about completing the biochem requirement? I took biochem, so I'm not sure why mine says this and it's making me really worried! And it's Saturday, so I can't call to sort it out until Monday!! I just want to know if this is a standard thing, or particular to the student and they just missed my class on my transcripts.

Yeah, same here. It sounds like Lori won't be back in the office 'til Wednesday so it might take a few days to work out, but as long as you took biochem, you should be fine.

Mine said that also and I've taken biochem. When I called, everything seemed to be okay though. I would double check your specific file just in case.

Default A sign that this process could very well be killing me

If I had to take a shot for each time that I refreshed my application portal status page in the hopes that the number magically jumped up, I would have died of alcohol poisoning a long time ago. Anyone else here feel like they would be dead, too?

I was always thinking if I had a nickel for every time I logged into the portal page I would be swimming in cash.

I agree with both of you. I've been trying to limit myself to checking in the afternoon only since it seems movement usually occurs between 1-3 if it does happen.

On another note, did anyone go to second look today? How was it?

Default Looking Forward to Tuesday

So I know that it's probably just coincidence, but Tuesdays look promising:

Just came back from it. It was interesting, but now that they've finally released the slides for Orientation week, I don't think it's anything they won't cover then. They sat us in a lecture hall in the afternoon and at the end of it, we had some MS1's and MS2's take us on a tour of the campus again where we were able to ask qustions. Supposedly, it's for people on the fence to decide which school they want to attend (as most of the speakers addressed us that way), but in reality, most of the people I talked to seem to have already signed and decided on OHSU already. I think if you are already committed to OHSU, it's definitely worthwhile to go, but I wouldn't make an extra effort to go out of your way to attend second look since all of it would be covered on orientation week.

wow, interesting. Thanks for putting that together.. I wish somebody had access to the other chart which had the previous 4-5 years on it so we could combine these two.. I would be curious to see how well they relate..

Ha!
Keep in mind, though, that I used only SDN posts for WL #s. The last 2011 spot is therefore 109, rather than the 120 that every class of 2015 member I've heard from has quoted me. I'm still feeling pretty comfortable about my high-eighties prediction, and if anything I'd take the over.

Yup. Wait list movement seems to have really slowed everywhere already. Anyone else getting a bad feeling about this week and that their won't be any movement? Hope I'm wrong.

I have a bad feeling, too. The extra wait must be punishment for hardly focusing on work the past couple of weeks. But how can I focus on work when all I can think about is OHSU? Definitely a problem, haha.

She is definitely out of the office. I had to call her about visiting or second look and her voicemail says she is out through today.

lol, I was hoping for a little bit more movement in a week than 1 spot... oh well, here comes more waiting!

I feel like we can move another 7-8 spots in the next week and a half...

Does anyone know how much of the class is full? I'm just a curious to know if anyone has called to see how many acceptances they've sent out without a response from students i.e. if someone is holding on to an acceptance to make up their mind between two schools

Best of luck to #62 and above, there is still a long way to go to August so I hope to see all those waiting on OHSU at orientation!
