Yea, hope to see everyone in the Osteopathic board or the Allopathic board for those of you applying to both!

The clinical was a required part of a course, we had to pass evaluations in order to pass the class.
I would list that as EC, Volunteer, and Community Service because you didn't get paid for the experience and therefore it isn't work. It's not going to make a lot of difference where you put it.

I recommend submitting. The risk isn't worth the caution of waiting. You'll be upset if you wait and come out with an awesome score.

Here is an odd situation:

Took Physics with Lab for 3 cr and earned a B.

Retook it six years later thinking I needed to review the material. Course was 4 cr with lab and I earned an F due to not dropping it though I thought I did. Sucks, huh?

So finally I took it two years later at my university for 3 cr and earned an A. This final school has Physics I and II as 3 cr each with a 2 cr lab taken whenever. Got an A in all of these three.

So how will it show up on my transcript? I really have no idea what to expect when they try to figure this out. I just marked the final time I took Physics I as last repeat.

Thanks

I would not sweat that F even if it doesn't get taken care of. You can easily explain that situation and it won't be held against you. Obviously, no one retakes a B (with any common sense!) so they'll know something is up there.

I believe the way you entered it in AACOMAS will take care of itself. You could repeat a B, of course, so marking both the F and the final A as repeats is the way to do it. I'll be surprised if they flag you for entering it like that. Of course, will be like until you explain why all that took place.

Don't sweat it.

I thought I was unprepared for the physics on the MCAT. Got myself in a jam obviously. Oops.

Thanks for the advice, feel better now.

Hey so I'm waiting for verification (submitted Monday) and I think maybe I entered some coursework wrong. Will aacomas contact me if something is entered wrong or will they just tell schools that I tried to lie on my app? Kind of confused as to the process of verification.

They'll either fix it or reject your app and have you fix it. Unless you blatantly misrepresented information in a malicious way the school will probably never know it happened.

Just make it right.

Your status depends on your semester hours/ unit count

Default ACCOMAS Fee Waiver

Ladies and Gentleman of SDN.

I submitted for the ACCOMAS Fee Waiver and it was added 5/30 and marked received 6/4.
I am planning on applying to 6 schools. Bottom line is, how long should I wait to submit? Any suggestions?

Anyone who has gotten a fee waiver, how long between it being marked received and you being accepted?

Thanks.

For transfer credit from a community college, do you list the course under your main university for which the class is transfered over to or do you have to make a new college under the college list and have the junior college send your transcript with the one course that was taken?

Took about 16 days for me to get rejected. If you have the money and your app is ready you should just apply. If you don't have it, you don't have it.

My understanding is that you will need to add each college or university you attended as a school and then list the courses you took at each school under that. Just like you have to send in a transcript from every school you should use the transcript from each school as a guide for what classes to enter under coursework on the application. Hope that helps

I listed it under the community college and not the school I transferred it to. My AACOMAS has been verified.

You must send transcripts from all schools that you have classes from.

Applied and rejected. Document received around same time as MedPR but rejected faster. Good luck.

Do they send you an email to let you know you've been accepted/rejected or will it just be updated on AACOMAS? realllllly hoping for that fee waiver but who knows.

I emailed them about it and they said they will send an email stating if they accepted or rejected you. Im not sure if it will be the "you have received a message in ACCOMAS application" or an actual email stating the decision, either way at the end of the day, I bet it will show up under the support section in the application, where messages show up.

I am thinking about waiting until the 14th to apply is that a bad idea?

I'm waiting until then as well. My documents were received on the 17th of May, and people there have told me it is going to take 2-4 weeks to come to a decision.

They will send an email to you and a message to your AACOMAS application.

It will say "You have received a message blah blah blah blah" so you will need to check your AACOMAS to view the decision. 14th is still very early, so it's not a bad idea.

Can we change any classifications after being verified? I may have classified retakes incorrectly.

for those of you who had your schools send your official transcript via regular mail to AACOMAS, how long did it take for AACOMAS to recieve your transcript?

Its been almost 2 weeks since my school sent over my transcript. I called to ask if they have recieved it and was informed that they have not. I am contemplating whether I should pay extra to resend my transcript via overnight mail or just continue to wait.

What do you guys think I should do?

I sent the mail out to my colleges on May 29, so that each school had my transcript request by May 30 or 31. AACOMAS "logged" two of my transcripts yesterday and "received" them today. My third and final transcript is not even logged yet.

MedPR (I believe) overnighted his transcript and they received it in less than 24 hours. It's up to you. When did you last call them?

I don't believe so. Call AACOMAS and see what they say, or drop them an email through the "support" link on the application (but I would cal them myself). How did they verify and not catch the mistakes (was your GPA wrong)?

I listed it under my CC, but also my 4yr college exactly as it appeared under their transcript. The CC factored it into my GPA, while my 4yr considered it P/F credits only, so that is what I designated on AACOMAS.

Will you repost when you do hear back, I assume you will hear back a bit before I do. It's looking like waiting until the 14th may not be long enough. My situation was my mom made 9 thousand with 2 my two younger brothers as dependents. I made less than that working part time, just getting some money from my military drill pay and working part time as a nurse. How long do you plan to wait?

Hi I have a question about submitting and MCAT scores.

I am able to submit my application even though the MCAT scores are not on AACOMAS yet? My scores were already released by THx but they aren't posted on my application yet, I am wondering if it will be okay for me to submit even though they have not been matched yet.

Thanks guys.

I'm wondering why it takes some people only 2 weeks to hear back and for others it looks like it may take 4 weeks or longer (I'm past 3 weeks already).

Did you submit the SAR or tax forms? I wonder if that has something to do with it. I think I ended up sending in my 2012-2013 SAR but I sent my 2011 tax forms. How long do you intend to wait, I hate this waiting. I will be very thankful if I get accepted, but the idea of getting rejected and waiting to submit, then waiting for verification is brutal.

Wasn't in school for the past year so I didn't have a SAR. Also was claimed as a dependent by my parents so I didn't file my own taxes, so didn't have personal tax forms. All I sent in was my parents' tax forms, which they said would be sufficient, but I am going to guess that not having the SAR will probably delay the process.

I took classes while in high school that counted for college credit at a different university (dual enrollment) than the one I am currently at for undergrad. For my academic status at the university I received credit for those courses (while still in high school) do I put Freshman? If so, then when added to the classes taken at my undergrad school, my credits would exceed 32-36. What should I do? Thanks!

That's pretty much like what i put on my application since I went to a CC for two semesters before really starting college at the university where I got my degree. I just added coursework under each school in chronological order then added my total credits and declared each class to be in my freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year depending on the scale of credit hours provided in the application instructions.
Long story short, maybe you were done being a freshman, according to aacomas at least, before you even started at your university.

I didn't have a SAR and it took them 2 weeks for mine. I sent my own tax filing.

If I submit my AACOMAS application (still waiting for the darn fee waiver!) by the end of next week, is it possible for me to be among the first batch of interviewees provided that I get my secondaries and LOR's out in a timely manner?

I assume yes as long as there aren't any major problems in your app. Mine was verified in 3 hours on 6/6.

Its been almost 2 weeks since my school sent over my transcript. I called to ask if they have recieved it and was informed that they have not. I am contemplating whether I should pay extra to resend my transcript via overnight mail or just continue to wait.

What do you guys think I should do?
more input please

For AACOMAS - Other Documents. Should we attach a self-photo of us?

For those of you who heard back either way, did they notify you or did you have to call and ask?

I am married, have one child, and have gotten a full tax refund every year, pell grants, etc. Pretty sure I am below the poverty line. Well, we'll see.

1. Call your school and ask them if it got sent and if they have any tracking info. If your school says it has not been sent. Tell them to send it now. If they have already sent it, have them resend it and ask if you can pay to have it sent overnight.

Schools might ask you for one in your secondary. I wouldn't bother attaching it to your primary.

The DO waiver is 10x harder to qualify for than the MD waiver. I know very few people personally who have been approved. It also seems like it takes longer to hear back than the MD waiver as well.
