Default Separating content review and passages/FL's a good idea?

When studying for the MCAT, is it recommended to complete all content review, THEN practice passages, THEN FL's? What's the smart way to go about doing these steps?
Thanks

Do content review and practice passages together. Specifically, read the chapter and then do the corresponding passages. Then after you've finished all your content review start doing FLs.

Look at SN2ed's schedule, it'll give you a good idea of how to go about this, assuming you don't decide to adopt his schedule entirely.

Your content review should include practice passages. If you have access to practice tests other than AAMC, take them while doing your content review. I took one kaplan full length a week during my content review to get used to the test format and hit content review from a different angle. I think it definitely paid off.

I'm curious, what do you mean by "hit content review from a different angle"?

I also wanted to separate my content from practice passages.

I am very weak on physiology so I am only reading BR Physiology book... I think I can read the entire book in 10 days... and then do the passages after a 2 day break..... I wanted to do this so I can see if I am studying effectively where the content is going into my long term memory.

Mostly I was referring to the way I did my studying, I used TPRH science and verbal workbook while using Kaplan's online materials so I got to see everything from two different companies. But I also meant that you get to see questions asked in a test-like format and the content they cover tends to be high yield stuff. Simulating test-like conditions was probably the best prep I did so come test time, it was business as usual.

I have now until the the beginning of the 2013 cycle to study and take my mcat. It's a long way.
With that said, how should I structure these months w/ content review and FL's if I were to take the January mcat?

I pretty much separated passages and review and it worked really well for me. Check out my post in the 30+ thread for more details (should be around Feb. 28th of this year). Additionally, I took the Jan. MCAT this year and had a relatively similar timeframe to yours.

Keep in mind that, though this worked well for me, the best way for the far majority of people is to couple review and passages.

Thanks
No! Do content review and practice passages together. Trust me. You need to become accustomed to working with passages. The exam
is going to throw some weird and convoluted passages with a bunch of topics mixed together, so you need a good handle on passages, timing and content. Hope this helps!

If you really went to separate content from passages.... I would do content on weekdays and passages on weekends.
