Default Interview this late in the game?

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
I've been pretty much applying to everything I see on Indeed, Monster, etc and a couple of weeks ago, a pharmacy resident position here in NYC caught my eye, so I applied thinking hey it's probably one of those internal apps but whatever.

So today I get a call for an interview. How often does this happen?

Yes I believe so. It's part of a rather prestigious health system.

Programs get funding approved for a spot after the match. It isn't uncommon.

Just had the interview today. It isn't an accredited program since it's a new program. I'd be the first resident ever if I get it, lol. There are 2 spots, but I have no doubts that they'll get accredited because their main campus already has an established residency program and it's a very good hospital in Manhattan. I feel like I aced the interview with the HR guy, think I did good with pharmacy staff. I was surprised that they asked me dosing questions, but that's what happens when you list that you did an anticoagulation guideline and vancomycin guideline in-service.
