SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
55 year old woman post Chloecystectomy reports of chest pain psl/7 EKG ran. No history of heart problems.
Doc I am shadowing told pt that her EKG's didn't come back matching... pt asked me what that meant and i wasn't sure how to answer question.
Would that mean that the pt has an irregular heart beat? What would cause that in a pt with no history? Please someone can you help me?

Preop and postoperative EKG's don't match and thus potential concern for post operative myocardial incident manifesting with EKG changes. First thing you do with new EKG's in this situation is compare to prior EKG's.
