Talking about Physical Abuse

I'm looking over secondary prompts right now from last year and some ask about prevailing over adversity and what not, and I was wondering whether it would not look good to mention that you were physically abused as a child. I'm not going into detail about it or anything, but would it be detrimental in any way to address it briefly? Thanks.

As long as you haven't gone on to make a series of horrible, criminal decisions as a result, it's okay. It's actually a great story of perseverance and growth if you can articulate it the right way.
