The point of the personal statement for AADSAS is to show 1) Why you want to be a dentist, and 2) why are you should to be selected to be in dental school over others. The first point should be explained pretty explicitly, and the second point ought to be done with a little bit more subtlety.
So, it helps to tell stories and bring up experiences or skills you have, and to give to the reader a sense of your personal qualities (compassion, perseverance...) that will make you a good dentist. They should be relevant to the overall message-- so if you think being an international student who focused on biology as an undergrad fits into the story, you could mention it. (otherwise, don't. this isn't an E-harmony profile) In the end, it will help you if your essay can broadly convey to the admission officers what type of person you are and what motivates you.
