A 52 year-old relative of mine has been diagnosed with a uterine sarcoma. She refuses to have the recommended hysterectomy and is instead attempting to cure herself through diet under the guidance of a "naturopathic physician." She is also employing some other unorthodox strategies, such as listening to upbeat music and walking barefoot in the grass (aparantally to absorb the alkalinity in the ground?). She has been doing this for about six months and claims that she feels better, but I am extremely skeptical and worried that she is putting herself in extreme danger. Her friends and family have of course tried convincing her to have the surgery, but to no avail. Are there any thoughts on what to say to this person?
