If you mean after your 3rd professional year, or after your 5th year at PCP (which I assume you attend), you are not an intern, but go on rotations at different sites. Again, assuming you are from PCP, you will unfortunately not be paid, but will have to pay $50k for that year alone.

I thought that's how it was for most/all programs.
![]() I know we don't have to pay a physical activities access fee our fourth year since we're off campus, and that's about the only change in our tuition.

Nj does not have such thing as a licensed intern over there as LIU told us. You guys are still working as techs right?

If it's through school, you won't get paid.
If it's on your own, like you clock in and out type of job, then you get paid. Don't know how intern hours work with NJ. |

For PA's 750 hour requirement (hours outside of school), those hours are typically through a paid internship.

Class of 2012!

Sounds like you're doing IPPE hours which are through school, unpaid.
NJ does NOT require intern hours for licensure so the scenario you stated sounds like its through the school. |

As others said, no such thing as an 'intern' officially in NJ. Working for a chain, you're still referred to as an intern, which just means your a tech who is a pharmacy student and you make more money. If you need additional intern hours for a state other then NJ, such as PA, you can get a form from the NJ board to keep track of extra hours worked.

Wow, that seems harsh. So 'interns' cannot do anything above a tech? No intern licenses?

I was just wondering since some other pharmacists were talking about it at a family gathering.
