Default Step Up to Step 2

Step Up to Step 2 is touted as the bible of Step by many medical students. However, the most recent edition is from 2007. Is there any plan for a newer edition at any point in the near future? Thanks.

Hi DroptheBop!

There won't be a new Step-Up to Step 2 for 2012 but we do have a new Step-Up title below that you might be interested in.

Step-Up to Medicine
Step-Up to Medicine is your lifeline for the clinical years of medical school. This book was originally written by third-year medical students searching for the perfect review book—not finding it on the market, they wrote it themselves! Now in its third edition, Step-Up to Medicine boils downthe full scope of tested pathology in a single ingenious tool. Each element is tailored for immediate content absorption, and an all-new full-color interior differentiate elements for even faster, more efficient review. And, Step-Up to Medicine, third edition provides two types of self-assessment—the kinds of questions you will ask yourself as a clinician plus USMLE-style practice questions. This review book gives you just the Step-Up to the medicine clerkship, accompanying shelf exams, and USMLE Step 2 that you need!

Also for Step 2 you might find the new edition of Boards & Wards for USMLE Steps 2 & 3 helpful.

Boards & Wards for USMLE Steps 2 & 3
Medical students and interns have no time to waste preparing for clinical rotations and the USMLE Steps 2 and 3. That's where Boards and Wards for USMLE Steps 2 & 3 comes in! Written in a high-yield outline format, it provides broad coverage of all the major fields of medicine tested on the USMLE and end-of-rotation exams.

Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!

Hi Laura,
I hate to be so picky but are there any plans for a new step up to step 2 in early 2013?

Thanks in advance

Hi AlexP,

I do not have any plans for a 2012 or 2013 edition that I can share. When I do though SDN will be the first to find out!

We do have great new editions for the clerkship years!

Step-Up to Medicine

Boards & Wards for USMLE Steps 2 & 3

Essentials of General Surgery

Best of luck with Step 2!

Thanks lauraLWW!
I actually ordered the step up to medicine new edition in July, it was supposed to be released Aug 23 but for some reason still no delivery. Is this a delay from the publishers end?

Hi AlexP! It actually published on September 5. Did you order it from LWW.com? If so, I can make a request for a status update. If you ordered it from somewhere else, I hope it will arrive soon!

When you get a chance to go through it and let us know what you think! We love student feedback!

I'm signed up for the Doctors in Training review course and it says the 2013 ed should be out ~May 1st of this year. Can you confirm or deny???

I ask because I have to schedule my Step 2 exam and want to make sure I get the new ed where the DIT folks are also editors.

Thank you!
