Default LOR arrive at the end of Sep, too late for rolling schools?

Hi guys, I'm an applicant applying in the current cycle. I'm just really panicked that I'm still missing a letter from a professor at this point. He is a really nice guys, but he is just to busy to finish it any time soon. I'm expecting to have the letter from him by the end of this month, but that means AMCAS won't have my letters (it will be a committee letter package) until then.

My question is, is it really bad to have the rolling schools to receive everything at the end of September? Most of the schools have deadlines around Nov 15 or so, but I heard they won't look at the applications toward the end of the window.

I did submitted the secondaries for most of the schools a few days ago, but that's all I can do. The letter is not in my control. I'm just freaking out that the schools might not even look at my material if they only receive the letters late Sep.

Am I over reacting, or is this something I really should worry about? Should I come up with an emergency plan right now?

It also helps to look at the schools you are applying to in the school-specific threads to get a read on how many II they have sent out and how many dates are left. This is something you must figure on your own.

From what I heard, at some schools LOR's become more important post-interview anyway.

But even at those schools won't you still be incomplete and therefore not "eligible" for an interview?

I've gotten an II with only 1 out of my 3 letters that were going to be sent to a school.
