Default Columbia. Should I?

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Should I apply to Columbia this late? If it was earlier in the cycle, I would be pretty confident about getting at least an interview, but I'm starting to doubt my chances a bit now. Here are my stats:

DAT Scores (9/4):
PA: 25 99.1%
QR: 26 99.8%
RC: 24 98.0%
Bio: 21 95.5%
GC: 21 91.6%
OC: 24 97.9%
TS: 22 98.3%
AA: 23 99.7%

3.3s
3.4c

I have a BS in Biochemistry from UWashington. I have volunteered at a small assisted living center for 300 hours over the past few years and have shadowed my dentist for the same amount of time. I also volunteered/worked in a yeast lab for 3 years and have a paper that's currently "in press".

What do you think? Save the $150 or go for it?

A friend had a lower GPA, same DAT, applied last cycle around mid-Oct, and landed an interview with them post December. I think you should apply, can't hurt

Go for it, why not? It's not that late in the game.

I felt like they (Columbia) were probably one of the first schools to invite people....

Just do it! If you get an interview from them, rock it! They set aside spaces for late applicants so there's a good chance.

For UPenn and Harvard, I'd say go for it, if you like their programs and have the money! wouldn't hurt, right?

Deff UPenn, and if you don't mind spending the money I would pay for Harvard as well as the British say for "****s and giggles" I appied to Harvard as well. It is a reach school but worth a shot! Good luck.
