What is the deal with programs having us sign that we saw the contract during the interview? Only some progs have me doing this - why some and not others? thanks |

It's a requirement from the NRMP. Presumably some programs are more paranoid about documenting they met this requirement than others. Maybe they've gotten burned in the past... or maybe they're just paranoid. I wouldn't think much of it.

Like 50% of my IV's have consisted of signing something saying I saw a contract and refusal to serve coffee until you do. |

I wonder what the exact requirement is. I've visited really nice low- to mid-tier academic programs where the applicants weren't shown a contract at all, but where the contract and terms of appointment are easily available on the GME portion of their website.

That satisfies the requirement by the NRMP.
