Default Ladies, butt hair: yay or nay?

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
So this is extremely embarrassing, but do you gals wax your butt hair? I saw a standardized patient the other day who shaves her butt hair and she had all stubble that she was complaining about. Then other patients just let it grow. Before I got into med school, I was foolish enough to think I was the only one who shaved down there. I've stopped though but it's so embarrassing. Any takers out there brave enough to say what they would do?

I've seen butt hair on men...but I've never heard of it on women.

Then again, I come from a fair, Scotch-Irish family.

Well you have hair almost everywhere so I guess all women have it but surely it's not long enough that you would actually need to shave it?

If I found hair there, it would be gone no matter how much pain the process would cause.

Well, who the hell is fond of butt hair? I do think, however, that it's a pain in the *ss to remove (pun intended--tee, hee.) I, personally, would never wax it--oh, the humanity. I do shave, but only when I have the time. Which is almost never.

You mean like little hairs around the anus? That's fairly common. Or are you talking about long hair all over the cheeks, like dude ass-hair? Cause I've never seen (or heard of) that before. If that's what you got, I'd spring for laser-hair removal.

How do you shave your butt hair anyway?

Default Lol!

This is the best post ever. I would reccommend getting rid of it. On pap's I've visualized what you're talking about, it's at the sacrum and seem's to grow downward and it's long.

I had one patient that was at least 300lbs. Left hand holding up the fat, right had inserting speculum, all while holding my breath as there was feces mixed in with the long hairs...Shudder, shudder, shudder, I'm gagging thinking about it, but I know what you're talking about!

Grotesque! How come ppl don't clean themselves when they come to the doctors?

I didn't even know hair could grow there, in women. I'd get rid of it.

I'm currently a nursing student in a BSN program. I really hope that as future health care providers you all aren't this flippant and cruel to patients that confide in you about personal topics they may be embarrassed/curious about. Everyone is different and just because you haven't seen something before does not make it wrong.

To the OP you might want to try women's-health.com it's a community forum where you can talk about issues such as this. I did a quick search and they already have a topic going.

I have this butt hair too but it has never bothered me. But if I had to do something about it I'd wax it. I don't like shaving much.

I'm pretty sure everyone has butt hair but it's just not long enough to ever bother with it. Its pretty common to get rid of, next time you get a Brazilian bikini wax just ask and they'll take it off for you. Makes you feel nice and breezy!!
