Doctor Changing Access to this Forum

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
The volunteer staff has decided that it is best to have this forum open only to posts by practicing physicians. This means posts will remain visible, but only authorized members of the forum will be able to post to the forum.

We use a similar method for hSDN and the neonatal forum. We have decided to move to this option based on feedback from our physician members.

Regular physician users of this forum will be given posting privileges. New members to the forum will need to request permission before posting.

Go here to request permission (select the practicing physicians group): http://forums.studentdoctor.net/prof...editusergroups

We use a similar method for...the neonatal forum.
Umm...true for hSDN, but not neonatal. I still don't get why it's private/membership only, as some providers, like anesthesia and emergency medicine, could profit from it. If I could view it, even if not post in it, it would benefit me as a practitioner.

You are welcome to join the neonatal forum as is any health care provider or student who wishes to participate in our forum. I didn't list EM or anesthesia in my description below, but intended it to be inclusive. We have had participation from folks in multiple specialties.

From: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=376406

"Other medical specialties such as other pediatric specialists or OB that have an interest in neonatology education may join. However, the primary target is those with a potential interest in becoming US-trained neonatologists or pediatricians doing substantial amounts of neonatal care (moonlighting or hospitalists) as well as current neonatologists. Neonatal nurse practioners, RT, PT, OT, and dietitians may also join in, although these careers are not the primary focus of this group. Non-medical personnel should not join but post in the other SDN forums as appropriate."

See, I thought I was specifically not welcome, because I'm not peds/neonatal. Thank you for the clarification/update.

There was some initial 'wonkiness' with the forum permissions. This has been fixed by making this forum accessible as a member of the public group "Practicing Physicians"

To register with the "Practicing Physicians" group, click here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/prof...editusergroups
