Default Would you choose Colorado or OHSU?

Hi guys,

I am trying to decide between Colorado and OHSU, and would appreciate any thoughts or advice. I really liked both of the schools when I interviewed at them and feel that each of them have something different to offer. Just curious on what you would do. Thanks!

If you like them both then go to the cheaper one.

I know OHSU has a strong clinical emphasis instead of research. I have chatted with a few of the dental graduates from OHSU who all felt very comfortable transitioning right into practice. If you're looking for a research-laden institution -- OHSU might not be for you. However, if you want a ton of hands on clinical instruction starting your fist term...I'd chose OHSU.

Thanks for responding guys. You're right, cost is a big factor, but it's not the only one in my case. If that was the case for me, Colorado would be an easy choice. However, in deciding between the schools, I am emphasizing other aspects of the school.

Clinical experience is more important to me than research and I have heard great things about Oregon's clinics and rather questionable things about Colorado, such as getting enough procedures to graduate and enough chair time to get quality experience, but these might just be rumors. Does anyone have any input about this?

The facilities at Colorado were impressive, Oregon's were good too, just not as flashy. I am wondering about the student perspective of the schools as well, are they happy with the school? Lastly, I'm considering different benefits of location. Colorado is a lot closer to home and would be an easy transition, however I liked Portland a lot and think that it would be exciting to move further away and it would be a good change of pace for me. Any other comments would be appreciated, thank you!
