Link about the workshop is here: http://ncpanet.org/calendarncpa/ownerworkshop/index.php After the workshop, I'll post my honest opinion about the value of the workshop. If you have any specific questions you think should be asked or things you want me to evaluate, let me know.

Today was the final day of the workshop. So now the question: was it worth the $700 dollars?
Answer: oh yeah. As a new grad entering a junior partnership, I found useful information in almost every segment of the workshop. Of particular value were the business plan, financial projection, and junior partner presentations by Richard Jackson. (If you get a chance to hear Dr. Jackson speak about pharmacy ownership, don't hesitate. He's awesome.) I also found a lot of value in the banking, legal and technology presentations. Those alone made the workshop worth the initial outlay. But besides the presentations, I also got a lot of value from time spent networking with other pharmacists. I met a pharmacist from my hometown who essentially offered me a position if my current junior partnership doesn't work out. A pharmacist from West Texas gave me the same offer. I met pharmacists from all over the US who asked me what my plans were after graduation and who were all eager to meet a young pharmacist who would come on board with them. How do you put a price tag on that? One word of advice for anyone considering attending: while there were pharmacists from all over the US, I noticed a concentration of pharmacists from southern states at this particular workshop. So if you're interested in networking, it might be better to wait until the workshop visits the region in which you plan on practicing. |

Many many thanks.
Keep posting whenever you get chance. I would love to hear voices from young graduates taking that route. I really want to know about journey in that direction. Please keep posting. It might be eye opener for so many others. Thanx Ray |
