Default Military Residency Accreditation

SDN Members don't see this ad.
Does anybody know if military medicine residencies are ACGME programs, AOA programs, or are they under another certification system? Also, do military residencies look at what you got Step 1 (I'm assuming yes) and do they look at COMLEX and USMLE or just one. Excuse the ignorance if this question is ridiculous, just looking for a little basic information.

All military residencies are ACGME accredited. We don't believe in AOA

Yes, they look at your step/comlex scores. I don't think DO's have to take the USMLE if they don't want to.

Some residencies on the Army MODS site don't list an average COMLEX score, just a USMLE. Does that mean that they only accept USMLE? (Otolaryngology as an example)

I interpreted that to mean DOs weren't well represented in those areas.
