Default Worried about app process and practically everything else! Need advice please.

I don't even know where to begin! My advisors at school have not really been assisting me when I ask them questions. They just have the "do whatever you feel is right! We believe in you!" attitude, but no real answers. So I'm sort of lost as far as application process goes.

First and foremost, I am unsure if I should even apply this cycle. I am going into my junior year this fall, but as far as credit-wise, I'd be a 2nd-sem junior, possibly. My university has a 3-in-1 program with UTHSC College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN, but I don't know if many other schools will accept me without a Bachelor's. I do know that I could apply to many schools, but I'm more worried about getting accepted. Because I can just as easily take my DAT this summer, do well, and just apply next year.

I do know someone who was accepted last year to Memphis because his OC score on the DAT was "unusually high." So it does seem possible to be accepted--however rare. So I guess really what I'm asking is: Should I still apply to maybe a couple of schools who do not require Bachelor's anyway? If so which ones, can I? Or should I wait until I take my DAT (late July) and then depending on scores turn in app or wait until next year?

Thoughts and advice?? Thank you!

What's your present GPA? Most schools need a Bachelors degree so that's not even an option. You'll need it to get accepted to dental school. I would wait until you your senior year, take the DAT and then apply as early as possible i.e. June 1st next year. There's no advantage in rushing it now and applying to the handful of schools that don't require a bachelors.

My gpa is a 3.9. Thank you for the advice! I may just apply to Memphis since my school has a program with that school, but not apply to other schools. If I get high enough on DAT, I may get in a year early. If not, I'm not really losing anything, but money for applying, and that's no problem.

Hmmm...with your gpa you could get in with a decent 20dat score even if you take it in August. I mean you are not a shoe in because of the delay bit still you have good chances.

If $ it's a concern apply next year if not ...gamble on the dat score & apply now
