You need clinical experience. You have zero. You need to shadow physicians as well as volunteer! Service is a huge part of the application.

Great thanks. I plan on volunteering in a hospital for the next year along with shadowing a pc physician. With this added to my application, do you think I would have a good chance of getting accepted somewhere?

Here are the six main things you need to have:
1. Good GPAs (which you have) 2. MCAT of 30+ (good luck hopefully you get it) 3. Research (you have) 4. Clinical experience (you're working on getting...dental and other doesn't matter much at all) 5. Shadowing (you're getting) 6. Volunteering! You need to show a track record of service. Volunteering can be medical or non-medical, and if its medical it is usually clinical. Obviously, there are a lot of other things that go into an application, but significantly missing any one of these six can kill your chances for MD admissions. Good luck |
