Default Flinders 2013

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Hey everyone! I am from the States (California specifically) and will be attending Flinders this February. I just wanted to start a thread to see who else will be starting med school at Flinders in 2013.

This could be helpful for those of us looking for potential roommates or housing? Or any other questions related to starting med school.

I am really excited and looking forward to the start of the year and meeting everyone else!

Veronica

Congrats Veronica! You'll likely get contacted in the coming months about a Facebook group where everyone from Flinders 2016 will be invited. Last year a lot of housemate arrangements and other pre-departure stuff was made on there. Lots of 2nd years will be monitoring it as well and can answer lots of questions.

The interview was pretty straight forward. Expect the typical questions about why you want to become a doctor and why you want to go international (more importantly why Australia). If you say you want to become a doctor to help people, you need to be prepared to give good examples of what you have already done to prove that a career in medicine is for you (ie volunteering). Just be yourself because they want to get to know who you are as a person as best as they can in a short time to see if you will fit in with their program. I recommend that you do some research on the school and their program and think about what you can offer the school and other students who would be in your program.
