Anyone else find today's question absurd? Since when are tails of phospholipids polar?

I believe that meant to say heads.

Stupid question.

The heads of phospholipids are the polar part and the tails are the non-polar.

This is tough. BF3 is non-polar. I got it 'right' b/c I said it was polar, thus the tails would be polar and the heads non polar.

Forgot that BF3 is a lewis acid and has no lone pairs.

Good catch.

huh! I guess they corrected it. The options used to say "polar tails" instead of heads.

Ok...I got it wrong anyway because I thoought BF3 was polar.

BF3 is very soluble in H2O though.....shouldn't if be polar then?

I am not sure about is solubility in H2O but BF3 is a non polar lewis acid with a net dipole of zero. Remember BF3 has an empty orbital that can accept electrons.

BF3 molecule is symmetrical with bond angle of 120 degrees
