Default SLOR from pediatric emergency medicine doc?

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Does getting a SLOR from a pediatric emergency medicine doc (who is EM boarded) work? Is it weighed less than a SLOR from a non peds EM doc?

In my case I could potentially get one from a peds EM doc from a pretty prestigious place. I would rather not have do a Peds EM clerkship but I may have no alternative so I am just seeing if it could be helpful.

Thank you so much in advance!

I think that would be fine, assuming it is an academic department. The point of the SLOR is to have people who regularly work with students be able to compare the applicant to their peers in a standardized fashion.

Agreed, so long as it's from an EM program a SLOR from a PedsEM person will do just fine.
