Default Jobs with Loan Forgiveness

I've heard they exist, but I want to know more about how they work. Do employers offer a lump sum of money as a bonus for signing a longer term contract coming out of PT school? I want to know if private loans can be paid back as easily as government loans with these kinds of positions.

I started getting into PT with the assumption that there was some type of loan forgiveness for this profession. To my surprise, I found out that there is not much forgiveness. There is for nurses, physicians, PAs, ... the list goes on,, but not for PTs. They've been trying to get added to the list for shortage providers, but as of yet no go.

Sometimes, employers can offer sign-on bonuses, which you can use as tuition repayment. Usually, employers don't pay bonuses in lump sum. They give you partial payment around six months, then one year, and then perhaps after two years of employment you'll receive all the bonus you were promised during sign-on
