Casey Ahh, now I see Iwakuni has beat me to it, but technically his is in another thread. Ok, couldn't wait - here it is (drumroll please): 1. Wake Forest 2. UNC 3. Duke 4. East Carolina 5. Palmetto-Richland 6. Penn State 7. Christiana 8. Med Col Ga 9. UVa 10. York 11. Emory 12. EVMS For me it was primarily a location thing (obviously). My wife wanted to be in a relatively urban area. Rotated at Wake and their strong points were 8 hr shifts, volume, peds, location, people. Faciltites and IT weren't so great but location is about as perfect as possible and you don't have to travel far between hospitals. UNC was almost #1 but I drove from UNC to wakemedand the drive pushed it down the list when you factor in that you're doing 12 hr shifts or 10's at Wake Med. Also somewhat higher cost for housing (my wife and I want a house). But would be absolutely happy there as #2. Duke looks good, volume a little low but otherwise what's not to like. Location slightly suboptimal. I should say something about Penn State - my (new) home program. I just didn't want to stay in PA and be a guinea pig at a new program, but I think the program will be great. out, to rock my baby to sleep and watch Star Trek the "C" |

Here goes:
1. South Florida 2. Johns Hopkins 3. Christiana 4. Maryland 5. Duke 6. Allegheny 7. Jacksonville 8. Palmetto 9. West Virginia What can I say - I fell in love with Tampa after spending a month with the people there. It would also be nice to help shape something great into something greater. Hopkins grew on me after the first 15 minutes there. Christiana was incredible during the month I was there - great residents and faculty. I will truly be happy wherever I end up - but I hope its with Quinn... GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! |

1. Allegheny General - Rotated there and loved it (see my posts in other threads)
2. Rochester - For me, anyway, this place just had gestalt out the *****... 3. Duke - Great people, and I like the Triangle 4. MCV - Great people, lots of cool stuff going on... 5. Hopkins - Great people, ties to McGill, lots of cool stuff, Baltimore was "ok" 6. Jefferson - Nice location, but a bit pricy compared to salary, and the med students at TJU didn't seem impressed. 7. MetroHealth - Great program, but dude, its still Cleveland... 8. York - Nice ED, but location was questionable... 9. USF - Don't really want to move back to the sunshine state. 10. St. Lukes, PA - Dr. Heller is a hoot, but it's a bit too far out there... Good luck everybody! |

Ok, here it goes:
1) Christiana: Loved everything about it 2) York: Loved almost everything about it 3) Morristown: Amazing faculty and program, but way too expensive to live (otherwise would have been #1) 4) St Lukes (PA): A little bit too small for my liking, but otherwise seemed solid. Heller is entertaining. 5) Jefferson: solid 6) Maryland: solid 7) SUNY Stonybrook: great people, but damn is it expensive to live there! 8) Duke: great PD, will eventually be a top program. 9) North Shore: great program, too damn expensive to live there 10) Newark Beth Israel: questionable, but I'd live through it Good luck everyone! Let's start counting down and drinking!

It is always interesting to see such varied postings...it goes to show you that people tend to find the programs that match well with them. Programs that I disliked, come up as favorites this year.
I wish all of you the best during the match!

It was all about chemistry and geography for me. Took zero notes during interview season.
1. Highland 2. Stanford 3. UC Davis 4. UCLA-Olive View 5. Boston U--I loved you BMC, but why couldn't ya just be in CA??? or at least somewhere a little bit warmer??? 6. U of Chicago--great residents and all sites were great clinically 7. NYU--loved the people and the teaching is AMAZING, but didn't want to continue living like a pauper and wanted higher acuity 8. MGH/BW--really great program but I belong at a county place 9. Jacobi 10. BIDMC--see #8, also, bit too frat feeling 11. Fresno--based solely on geography Good luck all! Thanks for all the SDN folks who helped out with this process. |

1. UNM: Great program (did a month there), love the southwest, close to skiing.
2. Synergy (Saginaw Michigan): Great gestalt, several faculty are big in ACEP, new ED is on the cover of "how to design an ER." This one hit me out of nowhere. As someone else said "1B" 3. Geisinger: Did a month there. Like the program, like the people, get to fly A LOT... 4. Mississippi: Didn't expect to rank a 4-year this high, but this place was awesome. ED is old, but otherwise I'd be very happy with this one 5. LSUBR 6. Texas Tech El Paso 7. UAB 8,9,10 Transititionals |

Hmmm. I posted yesterday (or at least THOUGHT it went through), but it seems to have disappeared. Thank goodness I checked NRMP and my REAL rank list is still there, and in the expected order.
1. Cooper -- loved just about everything about it 2. Drexel 3. Temple 4. Geisinger -- too bad they're in Danville, PA 5. Jefferson 6. St. Luke's (Bethlehem) 7. Christiana 8. York As you can see, there is a location thing important for me. |

I've been trying to post this for a week and a half now, and finally fixed the problem on my computer. My final list:
1. Denver 2. BIDMC 3. NYU/Bellevue 4. Carolinas 5. MGH/Brigham 6. Mount Sinai 7. Cincinatti 8. St. Lukes/Roosevelt 9. Boston MC 10. Beth Israel NYC Having said that..... for those of you who posted your list in alphabetical order - I mean, why even bother? How is that helpful? I think that sharing our lists with each other can be extremely helpful (I know I could have definitely used the extra info), and that concerns over PD's reading these posts and trying to figure out who you are are EXTREMELY paranoid and silly. The moderators of this forum should make an effort next year to make people feel more comfortable posting lists in time. |

Wake
EVMS Carolinas Christiana Vandy MCV Jax Ditto what C said for Wake. Loved the program. Glad that I interviewed there early so I could cancel some interviews. Hopefully, I didn't interview at too few. That being said, I would be happy at any of the above programs. |

To those that have asked, I am an osteopathic applicant and have previously posted my ROL on 2/27/04 on this thread. I chose to apply only to those allopathic programs that had previous DO's in their programs as stated in the EMRAMATCH.ORG template or on their programs website.
