I hope you find your answers, but I find it kind of funny that you applied without having any info on the school. Good luck!

I lived in spain for 2 years and have visited navarra and by hearsay have heard great things about the school, ie, that it is one of the top Universities in Europe. There are no real rankings in Europe like in the U.S. Anyone know any GOOD foreign MD websites? Anything on Europe in particular? PS: I did look over the webpage before applying, which is what I did for all of the US schools I applied to as well... -sepaul |

It's an excellent program. It was founded by its namesake, first name Dave, who was the lead guitarist for the band, Jane's addiction, and who married Carmen Electra, which spawned a superb MTV reality show. He's really quite a guy, and you'll get over how stupid he looks once you get to known what a brillant physcian he is.
I'm glad to hear you will have the chance to learn from a master like Dave. He's an world-renowned expert in proctology, so you get to learn all about the ***** straight from the horse's ***** (or mouth, if you prefer). |

It's great to know that I will be able to study with Dave Navarra! Sweet! I really hope that he can put Janes Addiction on the staff as well.
I heard that Perry Farrell might come on as an consultant on addiction and para-normal cross dressing. Plus they have a department studying sexual behavior and pyrotechnics called "Porno for Pyros." Damn, I can't wait! Quote:

But u must know something, studying here will occupy a big part of ur time if u r decided to finish it in 6 years. Anyway, if u need any help or advice, mail me and I'll be glad to help u as Ican.. good luck |

Are you a Spaniard? Does the university of Navarra accept foreign students? Just wondering, I lived in Pamplona for a couple months.

Here's a list of the Top 50 European universities according to the Times (London) Higher Education Supplement. http://www.thes.co.uk/statistics/int...dow_type=popup . This is not for med schools only though.

Thanks for that link. It wants you to register but I did a search on google "world university ranking .pdf" and came up with this:
http://www.epfl.ch/soc/etudes/pdf/wo...nkingsUnis.pdf That, I believe, is a direct link. Thanks! Keep the rankings coming... Quote:

I wonder if they even took into account that most French doctors publish under their hospitals' names and not their universities. It doesn't look like it. That's the only way Strasbourg (43rd) could be ranked higher than other French schools which are much more important centres of medical research.

First of all you must get the recognitzion of your School Degrees by UNED www.uned.es .
You have to translate all your curriculum into Spanish and get the "equivalency" of your grades. Then you must do some written exams: Spanish (it's made of 3 parts: a commentary about a certain issue; reading comprehension and grammar). Foreign language: English, German, French, Portuguese and Italian. and 3 out of these 6: chemistry, physics, geology, math, biology, drawing. If you're older than 25 the mark required to join the medical school is very low. Any more info you can PM me or send e-mail. Btw, the best way to start it, it should be asking the nearest Spanish embassy. |
