Default Schools that don't require pcat such as Albany college of Pharmacy

SDN Members don't see this ad.
I don't seem to do all that well on standarized tests, but my college grades are pretty good. Do you think pharmacy schools that don't require the pcat offer the same education as the ones that do?

I was looking at the Albany College of Pharmacy in New York. It doesn't require the pcat. Anyone hear anything good or bad about it?

albany has 6 year program so you will be transferring in. even though no PCAT sounds appealing, however, getting into those transfer spot is pretty much harder than catching a falling star.

I heard UCSF and USC are pretty easy to get into. Try there.

I don't think PCAT is required for most pharmacy schools in California. Purdue does not require PCAT either!

I heard Xavier in Louisana doesn't require PCAT, either.

In my personal opinion, if you can keep your prerequisite at pretty good GPA, you suppose to have no problem to score an average PCAT score.

Moving to the PCAT forum since this is PCAT related.

If you check out the FAQ in either the pre-pharmacy or the PCAT forums, you'll find a link answering this question. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/show...8&postcount=33

Im a current Albany COP student. I like the school so far As for admissions, i dont know if schools that dont require are easier to get into. I would suggest just taking the PCAT and see how you do. You dont want to limit to only non PCAT schools. These schools may actually get more apps since people are attracted to the non PCAT. Also the trend for ACP now is to have students transfer into the accelerated program, which takes about 50-60 students.
