Wondering if any DO students or interns applied to MD Ortho programs and matched?

I don't think that is true. I am a 2005 grad and I am pretty sure that we didn't have anyone match at Mayo for ortho. If you look at the DMU website there is no listing for anyone matching at Mayo or any other allopathic program for that matter. http://www.dmu.edu/com/residencies/MatchSpecialty.cfm

Kind of an aside to this discussion is DOs who match military ortho. Military ortho is somewhat more of an allo vs an osteo program and I know of several DOs who match military. This is a unique subset, but difficult to match all the same. Regardless, good luck to all in the match this year!

may have been '04, i'm not exactly sure. but it seems to be well-known around campus, with some profs confirming it.

Now that you mention it, I think you may be right. Somone from a few years ago may have matched at Mayo, all I knew for sure it wasn't my class.
