Default Should I retake the DAt? What should I do?

SDN Members don't see this ad.
I am a first time user; I really need some feedbacks.
I took the DAT this month and i don't know if I should take it over cuz my PAT is really low:

AA: 18 ; my gpa is 3.5; science gpa 3.23
PAT:15
RC: 20
QA: 16
TS: 19 (Bio:19; Chem: 19; org.:18)
But if I do then it will be in 90 days... in November I'm afraid that will be late, I might have an even lesser chance of getting in.

Please tell me what I should do?
Did anyone have similar DAT or grades got accepted to dental schools?
Thanks alot!

can you get accepted with these grades, yes. do i think you should retake the DAT: yes. do you need to loose sleep over this: no. how many schools did you apply at? your DAT is pretty much average (acceptable range) and your GPA is above average, so I would not sweat too much.

on the other hand, some schools like UOP have an automatic cut off for the PAT so i would advise to add a few more schools just to be on the safe side. good luck. keep us posted on how you do.

i think you should apply soon, but indicate that you will be retaking the DAT's. November applications will be too late in my opinion.

I don't know when you applied but I applied end of May. Actually, my stuff didn't get sent out until July 22. But anyway, I made a "agreement" with myself. If I get a certain amount of interviews with the stats that I have right now, then I will not re-take the DAT's. If I don't get a certain amount of interviews, then I will re-take it. This approach will only make sense if you applied early enough because you probably do not want to re-take it too late. My approach allows me to retake in late October if I have to. Man, I really don't want to take it again. But, I also have a "gotta do whatja gotta do" attitude. I'm 100% sure this is the field I want to begin and end my career and it is all in my control. Well, not totally in my control....there is the Man upstairs!
