Default Medical School in China (ADA)

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
I recently saw an advertisement made by a group called American Dream Abroad (ADA) ( www.americandreamabroad.com ), advertising for a school in China, apparently in Souzhou, China.

I am VERY wary of agent hook ups, but I was morbidly curious if anyone else here has heard of them. I want all the dirt, if there is any known :P

Although, with one of their advertised e-mails being "easymedschool@gmail.com", one has to wonder ...

Default Be careful

I came from China. I have some friends went to medical school there. Unless you want to practice medicine in china, you have to be careful about your decision. I think there are only two or three chinese medical schools are recognized by US. Students who graduated from other medical schools may have trouble to come to US and get licensed. This is what I heard. Good Luck.

Many medical schools in China are licensed and their graduates can do residency in the US. However, the language of instruction at those schools is Mandarin Chinese. The foreigners I knew who attended Chinese medical schools usually were from countries poorer than China and they received scholarships by the Chinese government to study Chinese and medicine. They speak Chinese but often many Chinese patients didn't want anything to do with them.

I would stay away from schools in China unless you already speak Mandarin and will be applying to one of the more prestigious schools in China.

I am a Chinese major in ophthalmology
The school you have mentioned is a third rate one , to be honest I have never heard of it , if you want to study in china for Medicine . I can recomend some good medical school . and it i s also possible for you to practice in the US after study in china , but you have to take the step 1,2,3 exam , I don't think that is easy , but there is a way .
you can email me sealzg@163.com

You can directly apply to the medical schools in China which is much cheaper than how much this ADA will charge since more than 75% of what they are asking will go towards their commission and they ask for the money upfront in cash. It does not include the room and board and food and living expenses you will incur during your stay there. Including the university has not even heard of USMLE. So you are on your own studying for it. Be weary of such agent hookups for I have fallen a victim of it. I would suggest going to Caribbean as the LAST option rather than China. They charge ridiculously different amount for different inquirers. I would stay away and try other DIRECT and SMART options. Do your homework.

Thanks for telling about your experiences. This is very good advice for naive students looking for a cheap and easy route to med school.
