Apparently, things aren't looking so good for www.quackwatch.com these days. Read the news and the judge's ruling at the following links:

Aw, shucks. I really like Dr. Barrett, but I do admit that at times his rhetoric is a bit overzealous -- and I note this even when I am complete agreement with him (which is usually). That law site is sorta spooky: everyone deserves the right to open his or her mouth, and unfortunately all the lawsuits illustrate is that the burden of proof is being chucked by the wayside. Yeesh.

(You used to be on the healthfraud list, drusso, no?)

For a little perspective on this, this suit is on behalf of a company that publishes the books of Hulda Clark. Dr. clark says she can cure cancer by killing the single parasite that causes ALL forms of cancer. Here is her site: http://www.drclark.net

Take care,
Jeff

Interesting to note that Dr. Hulda Clark is an ND. I would probably side with Dr. Barrett. This looks like quakery to me too. Testemonials? I suppose these really are more important than any kind of scientific data.

Anyone can be sured for just about anything. Does NOT mean they are right.

I beleive she is the same quack who said she could cure ADHD with amino acids. You know, it must be nice to call yourself a "doctor" and not be regulated by the states board of healing arts.

A double doctor, no less.
She has a PhD as well as being a Naturopathic Doctor (ND).

People like her make the rest of us suspect folks that have those types of credentials. It also makes me put more faith in the things that Dr. Barrett, MD might have to say. In either case I am cynical about all of them. Show me some proof. Show me statistics that I can analyze myself. Even some of the trash in peer reviewed journals is worthless. But, when it shows up on Dr Barrett's website now, I will be more likely to belief him.
