How bout 'em indeed. WVU came out flat and got smacked. It happens. Florida almost got beat by a crappy FSU team, too. Louisville in a game with Pitt. A ot of the big teams are coming out flat today.

Glad to see my alma mater do well today! I was flipping back and forth to that game. People always underestimate them but they have the ability to do really well. I can't wait to see how they do in the years to come!

Well Shoot!!! Looks like all of those slanted voters for USC won their little battle... how much money did USC pay them to overlook USC loosing to an unranked team over Michigan only loosing to the #1??? I haven't a clue, but it must have been a lot! UF came out so FLAT on sat, and ND didn't come out at all (except for Brady anyway).
Hats off to USF - wow, who woulda thought??? ~above~

No, it's not that they didn't come out to play, it's that they are just that bad. They better hope they play in the Orange Bowl against whatever God-awful ACC team wins that conference, because if they draw Michigan, the SEC champ, or Texas, they will be demolished.

I know it wouldn't happen, but I'd like to see a Arkansas, USC rematch. We might still lose, but certainly not as badly as the opener.

I'd take USC and give you 2 TDs. The SEC is down this year. The SEC champ will beat God awful Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl and the facade of brilliance will continue to falsly exude from the SEC.

Great game. So many Gators are injured, but they still manage to find a way to win every time. There was no one available to substitute on the defensive line so those guys had to play the entire game. Brandon Siler was awesome - 12 tackles.
Now we'll have a month to heal those injuries. I'll be watching the BCS show tonight to see who we play, Ohio State or Notre Dame. |

I haven't followed up on Lloyd's coaching career under the BCS system ('98 to present), but have they screwed him? I know the Michigan-Nebraska '97 championship spurred the BCS, but how has the BCS treated him since? If he went undefeated and wasn't allowed to play, I think he would then have the right to complain all he wants. Just imo. |

And he was the first non-BCS conference team to play in and also win a BCS game. A blow out, but it was Pitt.

That year the Big East was the second worst BCS conference season ever. Only to be eclipsed this year by the ACC.

The Big East will be pretty good next year. Write it down. Pitt's been recruiting like crazy, Louisville may get Brohm and Bush back, WVU returns Slaton, White, Reynaud, Schmitt, USF will be legit with a nasty defense. Rutgers wil have a brilliant D, Rice will be back. UCONN and Cincy are getting better. Syracuse...well...they suck...but everyone else will be better next year. The conference is young.

No, no, I mean that the 2004 season, the Big East was the 2nd weakest conference - for that isolated year - in the history of the BCS. In otehr words, I'm saying the ACC is worse this year than the Big East was in '04.

There have been talks. Many rumors at this time about his reasoning and if he'll actually go. It may just be something he's doing to get more money for facilities (which he received last night, apparently) or he is really considering. If he does go, I fear that WVU won't find a decent replacement.

The word around town is that WVU has nearly matched 'Bama's offer monetarily. It looks like there is more of the situation than just money - I think he's pissed at the administration, too. I know for a fact his wife doesn't want to leave town. It's not over yet though, he hasn't actually signed yet contrary to what the Bama people think and WVU is still making counter-offers.
http://www.tidesports.com/article/20.../61207025/1011 http://wvgazette.com/section/Breaking/000000223 If he leaves, oh well. WVU'll just go get Jimbo Fisher and the majority of the assistants will stay. But from now until the rest of eternity.... WAR EAGLE! |

This wait for the game is killing me. So I put together this list in my laziness. Championships from http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/nat...hamps_year.php
The SEC was formed in 1932 with 13 teams. 10 of the current 12 teams joined that day. Three teams have left (Sewanee, Georgia Tech, and Tulane). Only Arkansas and South Carolina make up the other two that joined in 1991. The following list is everything from 1932 and up when the SEC was formed. Note: Georgia Tech was in the SEC from 1932 to 1964. They were 1952 national champions while in the SEC. Penn State and Arkansas were not in their current conferences when they won championships so they are excluded. From the list with Penn State and Arkansas excluded: Big Ten: 18 total 1933 Michigan 1934 Minnesota 1935 Minnesota 1936 Minnesota 1940 Minnesota 1941 Minnesota 1942 Ohio State 1947 Michigan 1948 Michigan 1952 Michigan State 1954 Ohio State 1957 Ohio State 1960 Minnesota 1965 Michigan State 1966 Michigan State 1968 Ohio State 1997 Michigan 2002 Ohio State SEC: 20 total 1934 Alabama 1938 Tennessee 1942 Georgia 1950 Tennessee 1951 Tennessee 1952 Georgia Tech 1957 Auburn 1958 LSU 1960 Mississippi 1961 Alabama 1964 Alabama 1965 Alabama 1973 Alabama 1978 Alabama 1979 Alabama 1980 Georgia 1992 Alabama 1996 Florida 1998 Tennessee 2003 LSU Pretty close. Also, for the past 50 years: Big Ten - 7 championships (4 different teams) SEC - 14 championships (7 different teams) These two conferences are pretty similar NFL-wise, too. Both have the same number of players per team in the NFL (since SEC is 12 and Big Ten is 11) at about ~25 players/college team. I think it's going to be a good game and not a complete blowout like some think it will be. SEC - Big Ten bowl matchups UF vs. OSU Ark vs. Wisconsin Tenn vs. Penn State LSU vs. ND adds to the common opponents of Florida and Michigan. This bowl wait is killing me! |

Ok... now the thread is back...I'll post more..
So Mr and Mrs Zpacksux are looking for an RV... my daughter is 7 and my son is 15 months old... I'm thinking in 5 to 6 years, my daughter probably won't want to hang out with me..especially in a big RV camping out in the middle of nowhere in Montana.. so I think I should take advantage when I can... I should paint a big sign on the back of the RV... "Zpaksux" If we get an RV...Porsche has to go...which I only had it for a month.
