I found my apartment through one of internet databases, like apartments.com or apartmentguide.com. I think there were a few others I looked at, too, I just don't recall their names. A lot of the stuff in walking distance to school is a little sketchy, but there is also nice stuff in walking distance, too. I have friends who live here: http://www.micozzimanagement.com/gal...ter/index.html. It's walking distance and it's very nice. You can look at their other properties on their site--I looked at some of these in person last year when I was thinking of moving closer to campus, and everything I saw from them was very nice. Very old properties, but very well kept and historically cool.

I live here: http://www.dolben.com/cordismills_ma.htm. It's a little pricey, but nice, and it's good to get out of Worcester and away from school at night. It's about 12-15 minutes away (by car!).

It all depends on what you are looking for. The Bancroft is literally like 5 minutes walk from the school. Its like 650 for a studio. I have been there and a few other places a couple of weeks ago when I was there. Personally, within 5 minutes walk is ok. After that it is a little sketchy. Maybe its not that sketchy for me, I grew up in some bad neighborhoods, but for the average person, they might not like it. But, if you can live a little farther and go by car like DrugDealer then go for it. Or find a roommate with a car. I am currently looking for roommates. I got someone from UConn that seems like a nice guy and another that I am in contact with. Shoot me a PM if your interested. I have a car too.

thanks for the info amartins, but i am actually looking for something with 2 bedrooms, or possibly a bedroom and a den-type thing. i will be living with my girlfriend and i will need a place to study without being dirtracted by the tv and whatnot so a studio is probably out of the question. i am currently living in southie, so i dont think the neighborhoods can get much worse than this! appreciate the help.

Default Safety

How is the campus? is it pretty safe during the day time and night? How safe is it to walk from campus to Main or Bancoft at night time?

You'll be fine. If you're a woman and leaving campus really late then just have someone from the security office escort you if you feel its needed. You can just leave before it gets dark also but all in all it should be ok.

I am a new student at MCPHS- Worcester starting this fall. I would like to ask you about what kind of preparation I should do before the school start? How are the course load for the first semester? is there any book I should purchase in advance or start reading it now? Also do you think living off campus is a good idea?

I also would like to know about books, old exams and anything I might need to do well in this school. I am looking forward to hear from you.

I understand that the last few years the class at Worcester has been around 225 incoming students. Why a huge difference between that and the # of people taking and passing the Naplex?

Rogger,

I am a P1 at MCPHS-Worcester. I was in your position last year before I started school. I was reading these blogs and praying that none of it was true. I am happy to tell you that my personal experience here has been very positive. The classes are challenging but as long as you put the effort in you will do fine. Regardless of what pharmacy school you go to it is going to be challenging and there are going to be people that cannot complete the program for various reasons.

Be prepared to work hard and you will be fine! Good luck!

FYI you will learn nothing from class - that's what he means by "putting the work in."

Default Bancroft Commons!

Hi guys, I am a P1 student at MCPHS and currently living at Bancroft commons. I have a studio apartment and its pretty good...I signed a lease till the end of September...but I wont be here for the month of September because of Intermediate rotations....If anyone is looking for a place for one month to see if they like living at Bancroft...you can contact me...and If you do like then you can continue the contract....

There is one more thing....If you tell Bancroft that I referred you..then I get 500$ from the management......and so if anyone wants to put my name as referral...you can do so and I will be happy enough to give half of it to you....

My intention is not to make money but rather make up the money I might end up losing if I dont find someone to sublet for the month of September....If anyone is interested....call me at 508-425-6554...

Also if you need to see pictures of my apartment...email me at syd.hassan@gmail.com

Hey, I was just curious on what was your thought about Worcester? The town not the campus. I just got my acceptance letter in the mail and I will be coming from California. I have absolutely no idea what to expect. Everybody who I have talked to out here that knows about Massachusetts has said that Worcester is "hicky" which I don't mind, I'm not looking to make friends outside of school. I just don't want to be in a bad neighborhood.

If you know anybody that lived in Worcester or you heard anything about it, can you please let me know? Thanks.
