Default Student Loan Details?

Guys, does everyone who fills out a FAFSA and plans to attend medical school end up with the opportunity to choose to take out as much money as you would like up to the amount your school has down on the student budget? In not so many words, do we have to worry about not getting enough to pay tuition and have some cash to live on?

Default hope this helps

As far as I know this is the case. Although there may be a few exceptions. I know there is a cap on the amount of funding you can get through the stafford loan program, so if you have undergrad loans this could affect the amount you can borrow from this program. At my school if this happens they still find funding but they are through an alternative loan program and generally has less attractive borrower benefits. In general my experience is that you can get funding up to the school budget without problem, but it is a matter of where the money comes from that can change between students. This is my.02 as an instate public medical student.

This is correct. Generally you can always get loans up to the school's budget regardless of your past income/assets, etc.., if you're a graduate/professional student. The big difference is in whether or not you get subsidized or unsubsidized loans.
