Default Optics and Atlas question

SDN Members don't see this ad.
Any recommendations on a good textbook on optics? Also recommendations for an orbital anatomy/surgical atlas text?

Thanks for the input.

I use a book called "last minute optics" don't know author.
There's also an optic god by the name of Guyton - look him up.

As for Anatomy atlas, I've sticked to Netter - works well.

There's a surgical guide for general ophtho I use - by Alberts - really good but expensive ($1000). Also come out in CD ROMs so if you know someone...

Last Minute Optics is by Hunter and West. It is a Q&A format so better for review than for building a foundation.

David Guyton's book is called Ophthalmic Optics and Clinical Refraction. He is developing the course on a CD and should be available next year. I just spent 16 hours being lectured by him last week...he is a phenomenal teacher! His book is $17.50 sent to:
David L. Guyton, M.D.
Wilmer Institute, 233
Johns Hopkins Hospital
Baltimore, MD 21287-9028

The AAO BCSC book Section 3 is highly recommended as are Optics for Clinicians by Rubin and Clinical Visual Optics by Bennett and Rabbetts.

We just published an awesome optics review book for the boards (increased by optics from below 50s to high 90s with this book):
http://www.medrounds.org/optics-review/

Which is also available through the SDN bookstore:
http://more.studentdoctor.net/bookst...0&i=0976968916

This book has many questions covered on the boards and okaps. It's written as a concise review of topics followed by over 150 questions.

Used guyton only, did the problems in the book, didn't even read the second half my first two years, never scored below very high 90's on optics each year. many repeats from guyton.
