I'm thinking about applying to UF but i see that pre-calculus and calculus I is a prereq. I entered college with an AP credit for calculus I so i figured i did not have to take those two classes and simply moved on to calculus II. Will UF accept my AP credit for calc I for the pre-calc/calc I prereq? Second question. A friend has taken college algebra/trigonometry and will move on to calc I. At our current university college algebra/trigonometry is equivalent to taking pre-calc and lets you move on to calc I. Will UF accept the college algebra/trigonometry combo as the pre-calc prereq? Thank you. |

Yes they accept APs but they don't factor into your GPA. The only math requirment is: Mathematics MAC #311 (4 credits)Analytical Geometry with Calculus I You can go ahead and take Calc II if you'd like... That said, when I was in undergrad I placed out of Calculus I (never took the AP, placed out through my undergrad's placement exam) and jumped straight to Calc II and III. UF never gave me any trouble for it, but you should always check with them. |

Yes, they will take AP Calculus credit. I just spoke with them recently. They also said that you don't have to send them official scores, as long as the credit shows up on your transcript.
By the way, pre-calc isn't listed on the UF website, only on PharmCAS. I wouldn't trust PharmCAS for schools' pre-reqs. While pre-calc is itself a pre-req for calc, not everyone takes pre-calc in college. |

Hey guys thanks so much for your replies...makes life a tad less stressful around app time lol
![]() I just emailed UF, but not so sure how good they are at getting back - and that is why I love this forum ![]() Just another thing, as far Humanities go, do we need the 9 credits listed on the Pharmcas prereq list??? because like you said, the UF website doesn't list them either. |

There are no specific humanities courses that are required by UF (as opposed to courses like Gen. Chem.). However, an AA degree is an application requirement. AA degrees typically require humanities courses.
