Default 32Q, low gpa

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Just graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in economics. My Cumulative is a 3.35, while my science gpa is a 3.11. Recently got my MCAT back and my score was a 32Q (PS- 12, VR-10, BS-10). Was wondering my chances would be considering my low gpa.

also i've been thinking of taking two or three more science classes, most likely bio, assuming i studied like a fiend and managed A's in all of em, it would move my science gpa to a 3.25-3.3.

thoughts about what i should do/where i stand?

With a GPA that low and an MCAT only near or just-above average you're going to have a tough time, especially since you're lacking so much in the clinical experience field.

You could consider DO (if you up your ECs a lot in the next year) or foreign schools.

You need to volunteer some more and get a lot more clinical experience (get a basic medically related job or something). No schools, even with a decent MCAT, will let it slide that your application is kind of bare.
