It might be an interesting read no matter what, just don't take the content too seriously (i.e. don't try anything on your animals). Just keep in mind that it's outdated... which shouldn't be too hard to do.

As twelvetigers said, as long as you don't take it too seriously due to the age, it's not going to hurt to look through it.

my vet gave me a book from the early 1900s to look over for fun. it was awesome and it even had pictures inside. i didnt read it cover to cover because 1) it was super long and 2) its outdated. but its still really cool to see what was written back then!

I have read a few just for the sheer amazement of what they DID know back then. Even if some of what they knew/discovered is now outdated
