I don't know if this was in response to my thread or not, but thanks a lot, just what I was looking for.

What is the significance of this? lol

It doesn't matter, DDS and DMD are the same in the US

Some people like to stay clueless while others like to have general knowledge about the field they are interested in pursuing. If you are the later, enjoy. If the former:

Huh?. I just don't get what the point of this thread was since the degree means exactly the same thing.

Where did you get the idea that this was about which degree is superior?

Actually when I was mailing my supplementary fees I attached a short letter stating what the check was for. I wrote, "This check is for the supplementary fee for the DDS/DMD program at X school." So instead of going to each school's website looking up which degree they grant you can use this list. Here you go, one purpose of this thread. Any more questions?

I never had that idea. See, that's what I was asking. What the point of the thread was. No need to get all bent out of shape :)

University of Illinois (UIC) Dental School is changing from DDS to DMD, so by the time you guys graduate in 2014, you would be graduating with a DMD degree.

I really don't see the point of have 2 different dental degrees when there's no difference after you graduate from D schools.
