Don't know if you live in Southern California, but that does sound like fun. I, however, will be holed up at the nearby Barnes and Noble studying MCAT OChem

In other news, I was approved for FAP, which is going to make things waaaayyyy easier come June. Seriously, I had no idea how I was going to pay for my primaries, let alone anything after that with my current financial situation. Gives me a chance to do some saving.

How much is everyone studying for ochem? I'm really putting it off focusing on the PS section and Verbal

I plan to finish up Orgo at the end of this week (hopefully). Orgo was my weak spot in BS, so I need to spend a little bit more time reviewing. After that, I shall move in to the PS section. -__-

it sucks that there's so much to know in OChem yet it shows up the least out of all the sciences
I've been focusing much of my time with that and physics since they're my weakest subjects.

For sure. My test had one ochem passage, which was really just biochemistry. What a waste of study time. You never know if you'll get the test with 4 ochem passages, though

Dude, you're a beast. Congrats. Didn't know I was a good luck charm. Hope I don't jinx it, lol. I'll be sure to wish you luck for getting into medical school (and for all of us in this cycle ).

P.S. I'm female.

In other news, I've been MIA on this thread lately. Mostly because I've been stalking the SSD. Kinda exciting? Makes me hopeful? But, I have a downward trend this past year soo boo I now actually think I might apply with a lower GPA. whatever. Someone might want this poor, lonely soul *key depressing violin music*

But hope you all 2016ers (and frequent 2015 lurkers) had a good weekend. Have a good week, guys! and also, good luck to those with finals next week. back to this article review.

It was great. I rode my bike there, about 17 miles. I'm still sore...

You need to take a half day soon and do something fun!

Sure, I'll be your good luck charm. Hopefully, you can still pull a good grade in Orgo.

I've read the Class of 2014 SSD toward the end of their cycle and the Class of 2015 SSD from the beginning. Now I'm getting pumped because it's almost our turn! Makes me want to go and study MCAT Orgo (kinda).

I've heard of stuff like that happening, but then again I've also heard of a test with NO Orgo passages just Orgo as stand alones. I think that if you review the major Orgo concepts at some point before you take the test, you should be okay.

Just got accepted to the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Clinical Research Summer Program today and am SOOOOO stoked! I'm most likely spending my summer in Nashville! Now back to the mindless MCAT studying...

Congratulations! Nashville seems like such a cool place. I love country music (most people disagree with me there, it seems... )

Yeah, I've been so stressed, my friends at school keep telling me this. But in my opinion, I want to go all out now, and then hopefully this time next year i'll be sitting on an acceptance

blegh, I'm in ochem right now, so I'll probably squeeze in a quick ochem study seesh a little before the real exam. My focus is currently physics :/

yeah, so unpredictable! what the hell! it's more of a broad ochem thing, know the concepts, be familiar with mechanisms.

Thanks for the congrats guys! And not visiting there yet; orientation is on May 31st and I am going to Belize for a little R&R for the week before that after I take the MCAT on May 20th haha.

And nothing wrong with research at your school! I really love traveling so I wanted to blend my summer with research and traveling to a new city. I am sure there are some awesome state parks in TN too so that's exciting!

i took my mcat 1st time last year, got 31 but ran out of time in BS so I had to guess on like 10 questions and still got a 9... I am planning on retaking it this summer but should I take it mid june, early july, mid july, or late july in order to get that 33+?. I am turning in my primary app early june and I am not sure how my mcat retake is gonna affect rolling admission.

I honestly think these things are designed to demoralize us so we force ourselves to buy more of their supplies. In my Princeton Review class, there are these passages we do in class that are ridiculously hard.

This sucks, because I actually do well on the OChem stuff. I am studying the heck out of bio since ochem is min on the test, and gchem to help make up for physics - and then praying that i only get one physics passage.

My philosophy is that if it shows up on my princeton review books (or Berkeley Review, or whatever text you're using for MCAT prep) then its fair game for the test.

Probably not what you wanted to hear though

No, not really. But I knew deep down that I'd still have to relearn it. Darn it anyway.

No, not really. But I knew deep down that I'd still have to relearn it. Darn it anyway.
I know, there's just so much crap to learn that just seems so useless that I would rather just not go over it. Of course, with my luck, it'll turn out to be a 7 question passage on the actual test

So we just got to suck it up and go over those lame quantum numbers

Well, I had planned to do a lot of studying/catching up, but I just found out my in-laws are coming over for the weekend. And when I say in-laws, I mean all of my husbands family - mom, dad, grandma, sister, and two nieces. We have one guest bedroom. I wouldn't mind so much, but I REALLY need to study. This should be interesting.

I hope you are able to find some study time! Just pretend like you're running to the grocery store or something, but don't come back

Sounds great. I love NYC, and it's probably my favorite vacation spot in the world. I'm toying with adding some NYC schools to my list, but I'd probably be too scared/overwhelmed to live there alone...
